Since the fall of mankind, there has been strife and struggle in this life. There is no such thing as living a stress-free life. Anyone who will tell that this is possible is not living in reality. One of the consequences of Adam’s disobedience to God was that he would produce fruit by the sweat of his brow. (Genesis 3:17-19) So, how you thrive in a stressful environment? First, you have to understand that challenges and hardships will come your way. It’s a normal part of life on this planet, so acceptance is vital to thriving. The second thing to be mindful of is the resources you have access to you. If you are a believer, you can rely on the power of God to overcome any circumstance you might encounter. ( 1 John 4:4)
You have to have the right mindset, to not allow yourself to quit when you get tired. So many people start out strong but allow themselves to get weary on their journey; and eventually quit. Why did this happen? Because they either didn’t anticipate there would be challenges along the way, or they weren’t prepared mentally. How many of us have desire to do something and get inspired to make positive changes, only to quit because they didn’t count the cost. They thought it would be easy, but didn’t realize the cost that would be required of them. Anything in life worth having is going to cost you something. So be real in your expectations and understand the sacrifices you will have to make.
Finally, focus on the goal and not the journey. For example, if you want to get back in shape, know that it will take time to do that. You didn’t get out of shape overnight, so why would you think that getting back into shape will happen overnight? There are many people looking for the easy way. That’s why fade diets are so popular. This industry makes billions of dollars presenting the idea you can do it the easy way. No, be real in your expectations and realize it will take time. But while you are on the journey know your efforts will reward you, so don’t give up!
